Meet Ashley Hughes, PMHNP

I created Aligned Psychiatric Care to provide psychiatric treatment that feels more personal, collaborative, and grounded in the realities of everyday life.

Many of my patients are high-functioning individuals who have spent years pushing through anxiety, burnout, overwhelm, attention difficulties, sleep issues, or emotional exhaustion while still trying to manage work, school, relationships, and family responsibilities.

My approach combines evidence-based psychiatric care with thoughtful medication management, supportive therapy, and attention to the connection between mental and physical health.

What to Expect at Your Psychiatric Appointment

Treatment begins with understanding the whole person, including symptoms, medical history, lifestyle factors, and the biological, psychological, and social influences that may be affecting mental health.

Initial Psychiatric Evaluation

Your first visit includes a comprehensive review of symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, medications, supplements, lifestyle factors, previous treatment experiences, and treatment goals. When appropriate, laboratory findings, medical conditions, and validated screening tools may be considered to help clarify diagnosis and guide treatment recommendations.

Medication Management Plus

Some visits may include supportive psychotherapy alongside medication management. These appointments may focus on anxiety, ADHD, stress management, life transitions, emotional patterns, coping strategies, and behavioral changes that support long-term mental wellness.

Follow up visits

Follow-up visits focus on symptom improvement, medication effectiveness, side effects, and overall functioning. Treatment recommendations may include medication adjustments, monitoring progress, reviewing contributing factors such as sleep and stress, and ensuring the treatment plan continues to align with your goals.
